Long before Canadian Idol, Thunder Bay Idol or High School Idol, there was the Northern Ontario Youth Talent Search. In the early 90’s, the Jay Family Singers were the last group to represent Northern Ontario until the talent search was revived by the CLE in 2003.

How to Participate:

Complete the Entry form and submit it to the CLE Office (425 Northern Avenue, Thunder Bay) by May 30, 2008. Preliminary competitions are held on June 13 & 14, 2008 and the finals on August 10, 2008 at the Fair.

Where Is Northern Ontario Youth Talent Search:

The Northern Ontario Youth Talent Search takes place at the CLE Family Fair. Preliminary competition for the Juniors is on June 13, 2008 and for the Seniors on June 14, 2008.

How It Is Judged:

Participants are assessed on their natural ability, the quality of their performance, their stage presence, and their rapport with the audience, and are judged by professionals from the performing arts industry.

How It Is Funded:

The Northern Ontario Youth Talent Search is generously sponsored by Dougall Media (HOT FM) and the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition.
